Jayson is one of a handful of American IFMGA / UIAGM Mountain Guides, and these days splits his time between Boulder, Colorado & Chamonix, France. Prior to that he was based as a full-time mountain guide and avalanche educator in Crested Butte, CO and was the Owner / Operator of Crested Butte Mountain Guides from 2007-2014. Before coming to Triple Point Expeditions, Jayson has had over 10 years of experience skiing and ski guiding in the mountains of Alaska, and over 20 years of guiding clients in the mountains throughout the world in all disciplines of rock, ice, and snow. He is the former Professional Avalanche Programs Director for the Silverton Avalanche School; currently teaches and examines in the Pro 1 and Pro 2 Avalanche Education Tract for both SAS and the American Avalanche Institute, as well as being an Instructor / Examiner with the AMGA. He is a past member of the Crested Butte Professional Ski Patrol; holds a Colorado Blaster’s License for Avalanche Control work; worked as a snowcat ski guide for Irwin Guides; and was a founding member and forecaster for the Crested Butte Avalanche Center. When not guiding, Jayson can be found behind a camera lens as a professional photographer and has had some of his images published in: Backcountry Magazine, National Geographic Adventure, The New York Times, The Denver Post, Alpinist, Rock & Ice, Climbing Magazine, Ski Magazine, and more.
