2025 Alaska Heli Ski Season Recap

Triple Point Expeditions – Palmer, Alaska

As the midnight sun stretches over the peaks of the Chugach, we’re taking a moment to reflect on an unforgettable 2025 heli ski season here at Triple Point Expeditions. This spring delivered deep snow, new terrain, big lines, fresh faces, powerful moments, and unforgettable adventures in the heart of Alaska’s most sought-after ski terrain.

Whether you joined us this year or are dreaming of next season, here's a full breakdown of what made 2025 so special.

Season Summary

The 2025 season brought more terrain, more turns, more memories, and more stoke than ever before. It was our biggest and longest season to date in our nine-year history. With Alaska’s incredible mountains and long weather windows, we explored both our classic terrain and pushed deeper into new, exploratory zones.

Ski Runs & Terrain
We logged thousands of guest vertical feet, with endless bluebird days delivering full-value runs—from high alpine ridgelines to valley floor pickups.

Guests skied everything from steep technical couloirs to mellow glacier cruisers, sustained ramps, and massive alpine bowls. The sheer scope of terrain in Alaska means every day can bring something new and exciting, no matter your ability level.

For returning guests, we revisited some of the greatest hits from seasons past—like Dundee Bowl and Glacier View. For newcomers to the TPXperience, it was a firsthand taste of the epic scale and beauty that makes Alaska skiing bucket-list material.

Activities Beyond the Skiing
On weather days, the adventure didn’t stop. Guests stayed active with ski touring, glacier hikes, ice climbing, ATV missions, and scenic heli tours—each offering a unique connection to Alaska’s wild beauty.

Après-ski was just as unforgettable:
• Fire pit sessions and stories under the stars
• Wood-fired sauna and cold plunge recovery circuit
• Film screenings, guide clinics, and brewery tours
• Northern Lights viewings, especially in February and March

Season Highlights

Every season delivers something special, but 2025 brought some standout moments:

• Consistently amazing weather allowed for 3–6 flyable days back-to-back
• Guests from 12+ countries joined us—many for the second, third, or fifth time
• Multiple first descents were logged, with guests eaerning the right to name new lines
• Visiting pros and film crews captured epic content throughout the season
• Lodge takeovers by guest groups made for custom itineraries, ski safaris, and legendary nights
• Multi-zone pivots allowed us to hit multiple ranges in a single day—something that sets TPX apart

Whether skiing with us for the first time or the tenth, guests brought the energy and left with stories for life.

New Terrain & First Descents

Exploration is core to who we are. In 2025, we accessed exciting new zones and bagged several lines we’ve been eyeing for years.

The Project
A dramatic high-alpine face with complex entries, fluted spines, and a 2,000-foot couloir. A long-time goal, finally checked off.

The Island
A maze of glacial spines, pillow stacks, and open fields. This zone quickly became a guest favorite for its variety and snow quality.

Western Front Zones
Expansive new terrain with wide-open skiing and some of the best views in our tenure. These areas will be core to our future seasons.

Thanks to our guide team, pilots, ground operations and snow safety crew for safely opening up these wild new places.

Weather Recap

The snow gods showed up this season:

December – Early February: Cold storms built a solid base, while some wind and temps spiked in a few zones
February: Long high-pressure stretches delivered stable snow, clear skies and major vertical
March: Balanced snowfall and sun made for dream conditions
April: Endless powder days and 16+ hours of daylight combined for some of the season’s best skiing

This season was one of our highest fly-to-down-day ratios ever—more time in the field and less time watching the weather.

New Team Members

The mountains are only part of the experience. This year, we welcomed some amazing new crew:

Chef Tom
Creative, relaxed, and dialed.

Tom brought creativity, calm energy, and culinary range to the kitchen. Highlights included fresh halibut from Homer, Alaska, Locally caught salmon, wagyu beef night, and a kitchen that became the soul of the lodge. Tom's laid-back vibe turned the kitchen into a space where every meal felt like a celebration.

Chef Shane
A master of Alaskan-inspired comfort cuisine, Shane’s hearty breakfasts and wild game dinners became staples of the week. His ability to blend rustic soul food with refined presentation made each meal memorable.

Pilot Cody
Cody joined with a background in mountain flying and technical long-line work. His smooth, confident flying, clear communication, and team-first approach helped expand our terrain safely and efficiently.

Madison – Hospitality Guru
